Christopher Soetaert

Christopher Lee Soetaert, 38, passed away on November 17, 2007 after a very brief battle with brain cancer, only being diagnosed with a glioblastoma less than one month earlier.

Chris was born to Albert and Dorothy Soetaert on June 3, 1969. He grew up in Lenexa, Kansas and was a 1988 graduate of Shawnee Mission Northwest High School.

One of his first jobs while in high school was with USD 512 Shawnee Mission School District where he continued on for 22 years and made many cherished friends.

Chris was an avid outdoorsman. He loved everything about life and being with friends and family. On August 20, 1993, Chris married his best friend and love of his life, Tammy.  A few months later, the 2nd love of his life was born, his only daughter Kellie Jo.  They moved to Paola Kansas to raise Kellie Jo and enjoy the country living.  They spent their time out on the property or finding places to camp/fish. They went on many family vacations to Colorado, Florida, South Dakota, Kentucky, Texas and an Anniversary cruise to the Bahamas.

When he wasn’t with his family Chris enjoyed his annual guy trips: hunting in Iowa and Western Kansas, fishing at Taney Como and Bennett Springs , traveling to Texas for the NASCAR races, or participating in BBQ competitions.

Chris was a wonderful Son, Brother, Nephew, Cousin, Husband, Father and FRIEND. He is forever missed and never forgotten.
