This Memorial is for my Mother who suffered multiple brain seizures on her 57th b-day – Jan 5th 2011, and was subsequently diagnosed with a Stage 3/4 Glioblastoma (if I’m remembering correctly). She was given an estimated 2-5 yrs to live but a short 9 mths later she began to rapidly deteriorate after chemo/radiation showed reduction in the size of the tumor, it began to rapidly grow back and another one appeared. At this time we chose to allow her to live the rest of her time w/out additional treatment (we opted out of the chemo iv but kept her on seizure meds). I think she made peace and was ready to move on but I wasn’t ready to let go. Not a day goes by that I don’t miss her and wish that I could pick up the phone and call her or stop by her house and hug her. I anxiously await the day that we meet again. I want to do everything in my power to stop this cancer that takes way too many people away from us untimely.
