Jeremy Frye

Jeremy Summerhouse Frye passed away June 10, 2008, after a courageous battle with brain cancer. More than 900 family members and friends celebrated Jeremy’s life six days later, filling Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church in Overland Park, KS.

Jeremy was born September 25, 1984. He is survived by fiancée, Jamie Wynkoop, who he married in a religious ring ceremony a week before his death.

Jeremy is also survived by his parents, Harold and Carol; brother Christopher and his wife Heather and nieces Clara and Lily; and brother Andrew and wife Laurie; and by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.Jeremy graduated in 2003 from Shawnee Mission South High School, earned an associate of arts degree from Johnson County Community College and a bachelor of music education degree from Baker University. He completed student teaching in spring 2003 in the De Soto School District.

He had a passion for music, participating in many school church, and community musical groups. He was awarded numerous scholarships for talents with a saxophone, piano and voice.

Jeremy was an Eagle Scout, a Warrior in the Tribe of Mic-O-Say and a Brotherhood member of the Order of the Arrow. He loved all sports and participated in hockey and lacrosse.

According to Jamie, “Jeremy didn’t believe in leaving people out. He always saw the best in everyone. He was an incredible ray of sunshine in all our lives. He was the love of my life, my best friend, my everything.”

Jeremy was gifted in his ability to find humor in everything and to make people laugh. His zest and enthusiasm for life was contagious and affected everyone around him. For this and his love of others, he will be remembered by all.
