In Remembrance

John Holzer

John W Holzer

John was my older brother among five other siblings. We grew up a a very loving family and remained very close all of our lives. We vacationed together (all seven of us with our children and their children and still going). John was the oldest boy and a great support for all us.

They discovered a tumor in June of 2010. He reamined positive, but this was a terrible thing.

He had worked his way up from a carpenter to a very important and good business agent for the St. Louis district, and this awful tumor took his ability to think right from the beginning. They shrank the tumor and in November, we all had such hope and then he got ill and could not receive his treatment for a while. The tumor came back with a vengance. He seemed to never come back from that.

John remained cheerful but confused, and more tumors were growing in other areas of his head. He knew who we were by face but not by name. Of course that could have been our parents’ fault for naming us all with Js (Jerrie, Johnny, JoAnn, Jeanne, Janet, Jim and Joe); that would confuse anyone!

Well, John lost his battle on Easter Sunday 2011. We lost a good one and so did the world. We miss him every day and hope someday we can stop this terrible cancer.
