Melinda Faylor

I am in a relationship with a beautiful woman named Melinda Faylor who has been battling Ewing’s Sarcoma tumors in her hip, her abdomen, and in her head, but what you may not know is just how lucky a man that makes me! This woman who brightens my every day,
makes me smile, admires me, loves me for me, is so encouraging, soft, kind, and caring, who is my best friend, and who inspires me with every word has been fighting cancer for 3 years! 3 YEARS!!!! Still she is the most positive, beautiful, amazing, encouraging, and funny woman I have ever known! She is an amazing mother to the most handsome and gentlemenly 7 year old boy ever and loves him with all her heart! They are an inseperable little family of 2 and their love story is the ONLY one I like better than the one Mel and I share! She has endured so much and even though cancer has stolen her hair and eyebrows and lashes, she has the most electric eyes and vibrant smile and laugh, she is as beautiful now as EVER she has been! As with anyone there have been days when there isn’t music in your heart but Melinda has always sang anyway and made everyone around her hum right along with her!
Melinda is now in hospice and is rarely awake and they are managing her pain as she slowly slips away BUT her song is still bouncing in my head and I’m still trying to hum through the tears and the heart ache. I miss everything about her! Her positive and vibrant personality and encouraging way that she has approached her battle and her unwavering faith in God and the way she loves her Jesus could teach us all a lesson in life! The most genuine woman with the biggest heart… Melinda is what I asked God for since I was little and I wouldn’t trade one day of our time, but I would do anything to give her or anyone else one more day with someone they love! I run in her memory and to honor her! I don’t know if she’ll be with Jesus by the time I strap on my sneakers in her name BUT I hope she is there with me and watching over me and smiling!! I hope that her courage will inspire donations from all those that were touched by her life and her smile! I WILL NEVER FORGET her!
