Steven Long

Steven J. Long, 66, Mound City, Kans, formerly of Olathe, Kans., passed away on April 23, 2011, at home with his family by his side.

He battled aglioblastoma for five short months. Though he suffered from seizures and loss of mobility on his left side, he was a martyr to the disease. He never let it take his spirit away.

Steven was a hard working man all of his life. He was an excellent handy man and always took care of everything himself. He loved to fish and hunt. He was a man of few words, but his actions always spoke louder than words. He had a great sense of humor and that helped him cope with this devastating disease.

We miss him dearly and we hope that one day soon there will be more effective treatments and eventually a cure for this and other types of cancer.
