The third annual Head for the Cure 5K - Lawrence took downtown Lawrence by storm!
With more than 530 registered participants, the 2011 event more than doubled in size from last year. And the more than $33,000 raised represented four times more than what was raised last year. You can still contribute as we continue to accept donations.
Congratulations to overall winners - Tim Testa (15:57) and Jodie Cochrane (21:04) - and to eveyone who participated. Results are available here.
Award winners who did not pick up their medals at the event can go to Garry Gribbles Running Sports (839 Massachusetts, Lawrence, KS 66044) to claim them.
Race day photos are available for you to view and download free of charge!
See you next fall for the fourth installment of Head for the Cure 5K - Lawrence!

Keeping the Faith Awards
Sharing the personal stories of those in the midst of their fight is an important part of the awards ceremony. While we recognize the athletic accomplishments of our top runners, we also spend time presenting Keeping the Faith awards to the special people for whom Head for the Cure exists.
The struggles and triumphs of our Keeping the Faith award recipients are even more poignant when shared with everyone race day as we pay tribute to what they have survived and what lies ahead for them.
