BobbyTanner

Robert (Bobby) Tanner

Bobby was from Simpsonville SC and was married to his loving wife Linda for 52 years.  Bobby was a retired electrician and farmer; he took great pride in his hay fields at the Double T Ranch. He was a veteran of the Army National Guard. Bobby loved his Lord Jesus Christ and his family. Bobby had a special bond with his wife, his best friend, whom he shared hobbies with, and was the most supportive dad in his daughters’ interests. He loved animals and cared for his horses all his life. He loved rodeo and team roping and was a large part of the team roping community for many years. Bobby was an inspiring and humble man with a big laugh and mischievous grin. He was a man of few words, but people took notice of what he said. He will be missed by many and was loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Bobby was diagnosed with a brain tumor on May 25, 2019. He fearlessly and courageously fought his diagnosis with Linda and his family by his side. Bobby endured 2 brain surgeries, chemotherapy, and radiation. He lost his fight a year to the day of his diagnosis on May 25, 2020 at home. Bobby was a recipient of Head for the Cure’s 2020 Keeping the Faith award in Charleston, SC.  The wishes of his family are to continue with fundraising for Head for the Cure in his honor.

In true cowboy fashion, we know he was able to leave this earth proclaiming “WOW…what a ride!”
