Willow was diagnosed with a brain tumor in late 2018 at the age of 6. She underwent a six hour laser ablation and biopsy and was diagnosed with a Myxoid Glioneuronal tumor of the septum pellucidum and lateral ventricle. Even though this type of tumor is newly discovered and not much is known about it, we felt very blessed that her tumor is low grade and that is was able to be removed through the ablation. Unfortunately She has had some lasting damage to that area which has impacted her personality and learning. She is currently getting scans every six months and thankfully, her tumor is stable! Willow and her family are so amazing. Even though Willow’s treatments have placed a lot of financial and emotional burden on their family, they are always looking for ways to help others and give back. Whether it’s participating in an event like this or collecting gifts for patients at Primary Children’s Hospital, they make service to others in their community a priority. This little girl is a definitely a fighter and an inspiration to many! Go Team Willow!
