Lezlye is my sister. She lost Herb, the love of her life, to Brain Cancer and has never stopped…. never stopped loving him, never stopped fighting the horrible cancer that took his life. I have many words to describe her, but strength has to be one most suited for her. Not just physically strong (yes, she could certainly beat me up when we were younger!), but a strength that most people will never have to reach deep inside for. I’ll never be able to express how proud I am of her. It’s not surprising to me that she has continued to support Head for the Cure and has become a FORCE to be reckoned with as it relates to fundraising events! She’s that strong, that amazing. Of course her sister would think that, but I would be remiss if I didn’t include some words from a few of her closest friends and family: From Jolene: “She is always there for all of us with that amazing smile and take-charge attitude. What you see is what you get with my amazing friend and what you get exceeds expectations every time.” From Julie: “Many words to describe Lezlye – beautiful spirit, loyal, unpretentious, humble, never gives up on anyone! Sacrifices her time, and willing to help someone with no need to return the favor.” From Rachel: “She’s the most loving, caring, encouraging, giving, genuine, and fun-loving person I know! She puts others’ needs before her own and is always willing to lend a helping hand. She’s the best mom and friend in the whole world!” From Sharon: “I’ve been so blessed to have had Lezlye by my side after my husband got sick. Her support, care and understanding have gotten me through some rough times. She is very compassionate about Head for the Cure & I am proud to be her partner in the fundraisers.” Lezlye truly is deserving of this great award!
