Melissa is my sister in law and the mother of my nephew, Luke Hamilton, who was diagnosed at age 7 with Medullo Blastoma which took his life only a month later. Melissa has showed such strength for her husband and Luke’s 6 older siblings by turning to God and furthering her faith in hopes to better make sense of a senseless disease. She has been an open and honest book for everyone following Luke’s journey and their healing journey on social media. She has also showed such strength by traveling to college health professional programs and discussing Luke’s fatal condition. She continues to fight for awareness and a cure for brain cancers by spreading the news and supporting fundraising events to fund research. For all these reasons, she is a true example of keeping the faith during such a difficult and trying time.
