Brandon is currently 26 years old. He is an avid outdoorsman and was formerly a paramedic for Medic EMS Agency in Charlotte, NC.  In August 2015,at the age of 24, Brandon became severely ill for about 2 weeks with flu like symptoms. It was discovered that he had contracted Rocky Mt. Spotted Fever and was so sick he was admitted to the hospital, during this stay he had severe headaches so doctors ordered a CT scan which revealed that he had a mass in the left frontal lobe of his brain. He had surgery to remove the tumor in November 2015, afterwards it was discovered that the tumor was a grade 3 Anaplastic Astrocytoma, for which there is currently no cure. In December 2015, he began radiation and chemotherapy, during this time he has endured several complications including seizures, falls, blood clot of the lung and anaphylactic reaction to the MRI dye! He has currently completed a year of chemotherapy and his MRI’s have remained stable with no recurrent growth. He has begun working out at the gym, hunting and camping, which are his favorite hobbies. He has a huge support group of family and friends. As with all the fighters we remain hopeful that a cure will soon be found!
