Charleston – Meet Team Kyla

Our 3rd annual Head for the Cure 5k – Charleston is setting record numbers in participation and fundraising! We could not be more thrilled to see the city of Charleston rally together to raise funds, awareness, and hope for the Charleston brain tumor community. One of the teams helping to set these records is Team Kyla in honor of Kyla Burridge.

“Participating in the race means getting to spend time with my loved ones & coming together for a cause that is so special to me! I wouldn’t be where I’m at now without Hollings & the incredible staff that is there in the neurology department.” – Kyla

This is Team Kyla’s first year participating in a Head for the Cure event. Kyla’s mom, Jo, is leading the team’s efforts to not only show support for Kyla, but to show support to the other fellow teams. When asked what participating in this year’s event meant to her she told us, “Participating in the Head for the Cure means HOPE to me. The future of beating brain cancer lies in a clinical trial somewhere. Money is necessary for clinical trial research. This is a small way we can be a part in the defeat of this disease.”

It is because of Team Kyla and so many others that this year’s event has raised more awareness, funds, and hope than we ever imagined. Help us to continue our efforts by inviting another friend to join you on race day, keep pushing to reach your fundraising goal, and spread hope!
