This terrible disease affects real people every day! Ashley, from Team Brad-Lee, ignites hope by participating in honor of her father, Brad.
"My team, Team Brad-Lee, is running for my dad, Brad Heider. He was diagnosed with grade IV Glioblastoma a few days before Thanksgiving at age 59. After surviving brain surgery and a stroke which left him with very limited mobility and eyesight on his left side, he recently completed 6 grueling weeks of radiation and chemotherapy. His most recent MRI shows that new tumors have grown all around the radiation site and he will be exploring TT Fields as the next phase of treatment since he has decided to not pursue additional rounds of chemo. He has lost so much of his independence and the level of isolation has increased with the COVID-19 situation. I do my best to FaceTime with him most days (he lives in Ohio and I’m in California) and try to talk about things other than his illness and what it means for the future." - Ashley K.
